What are the four divisions of the IRB?
They are the Refugee Protection Division, Refugee Appeal Division, Immigration Division and Immigration Appeal Division. Each has a different role and procedure.
Why should I contact a representative quickly?
Tribunal and appeal matters can have strict filing and disclosure deadlines. Delay can reduce available options. Send only enough information to arrange a secure consultation; do not send sensitive evidence through the public website form.
Can an RCIC-IRB represent someone in Federal Court?
Federal Court litigation is outside an RCIC-IRB’s tribunal licence. A lawyer authorized for Federal Court work would need to be consulted.
Does representation guarantee the appeal or claim will succeed?
No. UW can prepare and advocate within the retainer, but the tribunal makes the decision based on the law, evidence and facts.
