Common questions
Answers before you request a consultation
Can a Canadian citizen sponsor a spouse while living outside Canada?
There are circumstances in which a Canadian citizen abroad may sponsor, including evidence of an intention to live in Canada if the application succeeds. Permanent residents generally have different residence requirements. The facts should be reviewed individually.
How much relationship evidence is enough?
There is no single document count that fits every couple. The evidence should be authentic, relevant and consistent with the couple’s history and living circumstances.
Is parent or grandparent sponsorship open now?
IRCC states that it paused new intake on July 15, 2026. Existing applications continue to be processed. Because program status changes, check the official IRCC page before making plans.
Does hiring a consultant guarantee approval?
No. A representative can advise, prepare and communicate within the agreed scope, but decisions are made by Canadian immigration authorities.
