How to increase your BC PNP score

  • Improve your lowest language score. Moving from CLB 7 to CLB 9 adds 10 points, and BC PNP only counts your weakest skill.
  • Check your wage. Each extra dollar of base hourly wage adds a point, up to $70/hour.
  • Count the right experience. Only experience directly related to the job-offer occupation counts; a year in Canada and current full-time work in B.C. with your employer each add 10.
  • Look at jobs outside Metro Vancouver. A job in Area 3 earns 15 points, plus 10 more with regional experience or a regional B.C. degree.
  • B.C. or Canadian education. Post-secondary study in B.C. adds 8 points (6 elsewhere in Canada).

Frequently asked questions

What is a good BC PNP score in 2026?

In 2026, Innovate points rounds invited registrations from about 131 to 136 points. Care and Build rounds target specific occupations and may not use the same score. A score is only one part of eligibility; you also need a qualifying B.C. job offer and must meet the stream’s requirements.

Do I need a job offer for BC PNP Skills Immigration?

Yes. Skills Immigration streams such as Skilled Worker and Health Authority need a full-time, indeterminate job offer from an eligible B.C. employer. The wage and location of that offer are part of your score.

Does a job in Surrey get area points?

No. Surrey is in the Metro Vancouver Regional District (Area 1), which earns 0 area points. Jobs in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission, Agassiz or Squamish earn 5, and the rest of B.C. earns 15.

Is this calculator official?

No. It is an estimate based on the BC PNP Skills Immigration Program Guide effective June 10, 2026. BC PNP assesses your registration and can change its scoring or invitation rounds at any time.

Can UW Immigration help with my BC PNP registration?

Yes. We review eligibility, job offers and documents for BC PNP Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC, by paid appointment in Fleetwood, Surrey or online, in English, Punjabi or Hindi. No outcome can be guaranteed.
